Kershaw Area Resource Exchange (KARE)

About Us

Kershaw Area Resource Exchange, known by most as KARE, is a non-profit agency whose mission is to help neighbors in need with practical support through crisis assistance, hunger relief, and resource referrals. KARE has been serving its neighbors for over 40 years having started as a small community clothes closet managed by a local church. Today, the organization has evolved into a tri-county assistance agency dedicated to providing resources that enable its clients to achieve sustaining financial independence. KARE serves the areas of Kershaw, Bethune, Cassatt, Heath Springs, Jefferson, Liberty Hill, and Westville, SC. KARE’s 4 major program areas are: Financial Crisis Assistance, Food Pantry, Home repairs/weatherization, and a retail thrift operation called The Exchange by KARE. For more information about KARE and its program, please visit the agency’s website at www.kershawkare.org.
