DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the Morning Business Connection with guest speaker J. Scott Broome\, the Chief Financial Officer of MUSC Lancaster Division\, as he shares plans for the new MUSC Indian Land Medical Center.\n\n\n\nScott is a native of Wingate\, NC\, and a graduate of Wingate University with degrees in Chemistry and Biology.  Although he had an interest in clinical pharmacology as an undergraduate\, he was given exposure to health administration with Charlotte based   Carolinas Healthcare System and he elected to pursue a Master of Health Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Following his Masters degree\, he completed a one-year administrative fellowship with what is now Atrium Health\, in NC.\n\n \n\nPrior to joining the Lancaster division in April 2020\, Broome was the Associate Chief of Affiliations for MUSC Health.  He began his post-fellowship career with Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston\, SC\, where he held a variety of roles. Having served as CEO in two hospital settings\, Broome has evidenced based experience with hospital operations and medical staff development.  He also has experience in a greenfield (completely new or start up facility) hospital in recent years\, which will prove valuable as MUSC Health   Lancaster Medical Center pursues plans to build an additional hospital in the northern portion of Lancaster County in Indian Land. \n\n \n\nScott is an American College of Healthcare Executives Fellow.  He and his wife\, Mika\, are the proud parents of five wonderful children.
